As with so many businesses, in response to the pandemic those in the hospitality had to flip, twist, and adapt to survive. The sad truth of the matter is that many didn’t. Thank fully, our stoic suppliers have pulled out all the stops to add what are now regarded as indispensable services to their offering. Founded on expertise that puts exactly the right drink in your hand, The Strait and Narrow has long championed quality and offering its clientele a truly unique hospitality experience. Known for a near endless list beers from around the world, real ale, comprehensive and contemporary wine list, and insanely creative cocktail menu, it’s been nine years since The Strait first made an impression on Lincoln – and us. Owners Jez and Abi Nash have invested time and measured energy into making The Strait a business that invests in its team, their progress, and the collaborations they put their name to.
“Steve and I met a long time ago, we’ve always had a good relationship and have helped train their staff in the past too,” says Jez. “We have always run into each other at events such as the Lincolnshire Show and Food and Gift Fair, we had always had a plan in mind because we knew it would work. They are the best at what they do, they are the kind of businesses we want to work with.”
When Covid-19 put trading in person on hold, Jez, Abi and the team looked towards taking its award-winning offering on the road. Bottling some of their most popular hand-poured, small batch, signature gin, vodka, whiskey, and rum cocktails, The Strait team began to deliver their bar-tending excellence to customer’s homes, and behind our bar too.
Our partnership began when we developed The Lincolnshire Kitchen, our take-away service. Pairing our award-winning food with Jez and the team’s award-winning drinks seemed like a natural choice.
The bottled cocktails – of which we stock Espresso Martini, Amaretto Sour, Pornstar Martini, and Old Fashioned – are freshly made with the premium spirit brands Jez and the team have long forged fruitful relationships with – Sacred Organic Vodka, Plantation Rum, Sacred Gin and Buffalo Trace Bourbon to name a few.
The team are in the process of introducing three new cocktails to the range too – and we can’t to share those with you!
