At the beginning of June we had the pleasure of catering for Tom and Nicole’s beautiful Teepee wedding, on their farm in Lincolnshire.

Tom and Nicoles Lincolnshire Teepee Wedding

True to Toms farming upbringing, he arrived to the church on his tractor, whilst Nicole and her bridesmaids arrived via horse and carriage. The couple shared an intimate church ceremony with friends and family, before heading back to the farm, where Papakata had erected 3 teepee hats.

  Arriving back to their farm, Tom and Nicole were greeted by freshly poured glasses of champagne, popped bottles of beer and all of their guests, eager to congratulate the newly wed couple.

Hay bales were dotted around the front of the teepee for guests to enjoy sitting outside in the open surroundings, whilst rustic signs, painted onto old pallets listed the timings for Tom & Nicole’s day of celebrations.

Once drinks were flowing, our Healing Manor team began to served guests the canapés Tom and Nicole had chosen. We served a selection of;

Whitby White Crab, avocado purée, spring onion and lime.

Slow Cooked Lamb, broad bean salsa, lavender new potatoes.

Roast Lincolnshire beef, crushed carrot, swede, horseradish & Yorkshire pudding

Whilst our team encouraged guests to take their seats ready for the new Mr & Mrs Reeve to be introduced into the room, guests found their sets via Nicole’s love of gin.

With a gin theme throughout, Nicole had decorated her tables with different brands of gin, which formed the table names. The newly wed couple, also offered guests a selection of G&T’s and gin cocktails from behind the bar, including Pin Gin’s London Dry and Tonic and Pin Gin Strawberry Gin and Elderflower Tonic.

Guests took their seats at the beautiful decorated tables, adorned with summer flowers and gin bottles galore. Whilst most of the guests sat down at round tables with white linen, Tom and Nicole had opted for a beautiful rustic wooden dining table as their top table. This was dresses with locally forages moss and flowers to match Nicole’s bouquet.

Tom and Nicole opted for a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts for guests to enjoy, alongside a separate menu for the children. Dishes were chosen from our Grosvenor A la Carte menu and included;

Chicken Liver Påté, toasted brioche, apple & pear chutney

Pulled Pork Shoulder, crushed minted peas, crispy ham hock

Mains were a choice of;

Chicken Supreme, bacon, pork, sage & onion stuffing, fondant potato, sherry & mushroom velouté

Duo of Beef, sirloin & slow cooked brisket, English carrot purée, dauphinoise potatoes.

Children enjoyed Sausages and Mash, which were served whilst the adults enjoyed their starters.

Desserts included;

Triple Chocolate Brownie with double cream and berries. All of the brownies were made and served gluten free.

Pavlova, elderflower, raspberry, white chocolate

Children enjoyed Profiteroles & Cream with a drizzle of chocolate.

After a huge toast to Tom and Nicole and all of the formalities of speeches, guests enjoyed more gin’s and magic tricks from Tom & Nicole’s magician, whilst James & Merika took the newly married couple away from the crowds for a few moments together and pictures around the farm.  Tom and Nicoles Lincolnshire Teepee Wedding

The star of the show (after the bride and groom of course!) was Tom and Nicole’s cocker spaniel puppy. He roamed around guests after food was served and kept everyone entertained, running off with wooden spoons from our kitchen tent and stealing the flower arrangement for the evenings Pie Station.

Tom and his family had spent a few days prior to the wedding setting everything up, included some games to keep children (and adults) entertained. Games included; a coconut shy, rodeo bull and bouncy castle

For Tom & Nicole’s evening meal, they wanted something that was completely informal, stodgy and perfect for all of those that had been enjoying a few too many throughout the day.

Whilst we offer a number of food stations, the ‘Pie Station‘ has to be one of our favourites. During the summer the nights do tend to still get cooler, so you can get away with serving warm food. For anyone looking to serve a food station during the day time and in the midst of summer, our kebab or posh dog station is a great alternative, and still provides all of the stodge needed for day time ‘wedding-drinking.’

For guests with intolerance’s, we served a gluten free and a vegetarian option. All of the pies were labeled with miniature chalk board signs, so guests could help themselves, and avoid a ‘pie-roulette’ situation. Tom and Nicole opted for Steak & Ale and Chicken & Leek Pie’s. We served lashings of gravy, mashed potato, mushy peas and garden peas on the side. Tom had made a special request for a Beef and Stilton Pie for one of his friends, so we dressed this up with a funny note from Tom.
