To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Normandy Landings this June, we are proud to offer you a special D-Day Afternoon Tea in the elegant surroundings of Healing Manor Hotel.

Served on six days only, don’t miss your chance to enjoy this evocative D-Day Afternoon Tea. It’s available on Thursday 30 May, Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June, and Thursday 6 June, Friday 7 June and Saturday 8 June 2024, from 12pm-3pm.

Our chefs have created a nostalgic D-Day afternoon tea menu that harks back to the 1940s, with traditional war-time flavours and family favourites that have lasted through the decades. Tuck into a spread of delicious  Coronation Chicken, Cucumber and cream cheese, and Corned Beef and mustard sandwiches, then move on to a selection of savouries including a mini Pork Pie, Pea & Ham Scotch Egg and a Marmite Cheese Straw. There’ll be a duo of 1940s inspired scones – Parkin and Eccles Cake – then a delicate sweet selection with some of our absolute Healing Manor favourites from years gone by: Victoria Sponge, Sherbet Lemon Trifle, Carrot Cake, Cold Rice Pudding, and Old English Toffee.

This D-Day Afternoon Tea is a wonderful way for the older generation to reminisce, to remember grandparents who lived through the Normandy Landings, or to introduce younger guests to our British history.

D-Day Afternoon Tea is £26 per person, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan menus available. A Children’s menu, for under-14s, is available at £18.

Please book your table using the booking tab below.

Terms & Conditions

Please take time to familiarise yourself with our Booking Terms and Conditions.

Tables are allocated for two hours.

We politely request that you inform us of any dietary requirements upon booking or at least 48 hours prior to arrival.

There is a 48 hour-cancellation policy for afternoon tea bookings due to the nature of preparation and the work which goes into making your Afternoon Tea. We ask that the person making the booking checks with guests to confirm dietary requirements and lets our team know via our booking system, email or telephone.

We try to accommodate all dietary requirements and offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or regular afternoon tea. Whilst our kitchen will always do their upmost to accommodate dietary requests, please note that our afternoon tea menus are set menus and items can’t always be substituted. Due to the nature of the ingredients in our afternoon teas, our gluten-free afternoon tea can not be made vegan or dairy-free, and our vegan afternoon tea can not be offered as gluten-free.

Please note that images used are from previous afternoon teas at Healing Manor Hotel and actual afternoon teas will vary: please refer to the menus for details of items served.

We welcome Gift Vouchers for Healing Manor Hotel and The Pig & Whistle as payment towards afternoon tea. If you hold a Gift Voucher for Afternoon Tea and are not available for any of our Afternoon Tea dates,  the value of the Gift Voucher can be used against any other product and service at Healing Manor and The Pig & Whistle.

Please note that images vary to the menu and are used to illustrate the experience.

Although booking isn’t compulsory, it’s recommended!
