Once the wedding is over, and those final admin tasks sorted it’s finally time to enjoy being a married couple, and we bet you want to keep that dreamy newlywed feeling for as long as possible. So, as a final part of the Healing Manor wedding experience, we have a few tips which we guarantee will help that magical feeling last as long as possible…

wedding tips

Never go to bed angry

Disagreements happen, sometimes they’re small, sometimes they’re big – we’re sure you know from the wedding planning phase – but whatever you’ve had crossed words about, it’s recommended that you don’t go to bed angry. Even if you can’t reach an agreement, agree to disagree, and set some time aside to discuss it the next day.

wedding tips

Communication is key

When life gets stressful, it’s easy to forget that your other half isn’t a mind reader, and this can cause tension. Whether you’re feeling frustrated, or overwhelmed since your wedding, remember you’re a team, and speak to your partner. They’ll be there for you one way or another, whether it’s solving the problem, or just letting you vent – remember to talk, it will make all the difference.

wedding tips

Divide up the jobs early

We know the theory of pink and blue jobs is outdated, but sometimes it is good to avoid confusion. Job allocation doesn’t have to fall into the conventional way of thinking either – a pink job could be mowing the lawn, and the blue doing the ironing. Whatever you decide, we recommend pulling out those contentious jobs, and deciding who does what to avoid frustration. You did it in the run up to the wedding, why not now?

wedding tips

Be prepared for the petty battles

Whether it’s the battle of the thermostat, mugs left above the dishwasher not in it, or the lights being left on, or something else altogether – all couples have little frustrations. We recommend not only to be prepared for it, but to deal with it in humour. Nobody is perfect, and sometimes it’s easier to find the irritants rather than focusing on the positives.

wedding tips

Remember to have fun

Remember, whatever happens, have fun. You chose each other for a number of reasons, and we bet one of those was that they made you laugh, and you enjoyed spending time together. After all, what is a marriage without laughter?
