Classic romance with a rustic twist was the mantra behind Kieran and Beth’s May wedding at Healing Manor Hotel. With a colour scheme was ivory white and sage green, the Wedding Barn was styled with fairy lights, floating candles, soft textures, greenery, and a stunning feature-point of a  circular moon and ‘It was always you’.

“We loved the stunning barn which was rustic and romantic but also intimate – just what we wanted. The grounds surrounding the barn were beautiful with lots of settings for the perfect photos and with areas for all of our ideas to come alive. Everyone on the Healing Manor team were so lovely and friendly and could not do enough for us from the very first day of meeting them.”

Beth and Kieran went to primary school together, but only started to chat when they hit their teens.

“We were together for twelve years as childhood sweethearts before Kieran proposed. We were away in the Peak District. We had been for a walk in the countryside and, when the sun was setting, Kieran surprised me as I turned round and he was on one knee with an engagement ring in his hand.”

“Hannah at Healing Manor was our wedding planner, along with Holly. Neither could not do enough for us and made sure our wedding was everything we could have hoped for. We are so grateful to have had Hannah and Holly be part of our day.”

Amy of Jack Loves Jill worked with the couple to help their mantra come to life.

“Jack Loves Jill was our incredible stylist. Amy was absolutely amazing helping us plan our perfect day. She captured our romantic and rustic vision perfectly and the barn looked more beautiful than we ever could have imagined. Amy made the barn look romantic with lots of fairy lights, floating candles, soft textures, greenery and rustic touches spread throughout.”

“We had fairy lights on the wooden beams and a fairylight backdrop to make it warm and cosy. We had drapes of ivory chiffon along with a circular moon with a saying of ‘It was always you’. Floating candles were placed down the aisle and candles were spread through the barn to keep it romantic. For our table centrepieces we had a wooden round circular board with chiffon, floating candles, and candlesticks.”

The rustic styling was complemented by classic white and green florals, styled by Abigail from Seaholly Floral Design.

“Abigail was so lovely to work with. As a couple, we did not know much about flowers but Abigail was so friendly and made us feel at ease guiding us through our choices. We chose flowers which were classic white and green to match our style of the wedding. The bouquets and button holes featured white roses which we absolutely love. Abigail created the most beautiful wedding flowers for us and we are so grateful for her help.”

The couple chose James and Merika of James Green Studio as their wedding photographers.

“There are not enough words to say how amazing these two people are. From our first meeting with James, we felt so relaxed and knew we were in good hands. James and Merika made the day completely about what we wanted and made us feel so relaxed, it was like having our friends photograph us. James worked with Kieran the morning of our wedding whilst Merika worked with me and then both of them photographed our wedding and our guests. Our wedding photos are absolutely beautiful. James and Merika knew all the beautiful backdrops for the perfect wedding pictures and were with us every step of the day, even in the pouring rain.”

Calvin Taylor Lee was recruited to create a a wedding video of the day, a lasting memory for the newly-weds to look back on.

“We loved that the videographers were so lovely. There were not always in our face and were busy capturing the whole of our day. Our wedding highlight video is just perfect as it plays our first dance song shows moments of our wedding from start to finish.It is a video which will give us happy memories to treasure for a lifetime.”

The groom’s classic, three-piece suit was Fallen Hero via Cavani at Coney’s.

“Kieran chose a navy checked suit with a waist coat and jacket with a sage green tie and pocket square.”

Beth visited Jaynes Bridalwear in Lincoln where she chose her veil and Stella York gown.

“I loved how my dress made me feel. The fitted bodice was flattering and I loved how the dress flowed at the bottom. My favourite part of the dress was the lace detail which made the dress feel elegant and I knew it would be perfect for our romantic style. My veil was a mid-length veil; it made the dress feel complete without covering up too much of its lace detail.”

The bride wore simple ivory shoes with lace detail to complement her dress, and their low block heel made them the perfect dancing shoes.

“I wore a simple silver bracelet and silver necklace with a little heart on which Kieran had bought for me as a wedding gift.”

Beth’s make-up was applied by Sophie Emerson whilst hair stylist Samantha Constable created her bridal hair.

“Sophie Emerson was absolutely amazing. I asked for a very natural look and Sophie made me feel beautiful. Samantha Constable was also incredible, I chose for my hair to be down and curly with some of it twisted at the back, and Samantha achieved this perfectly. In my hair, I wore a hair comb with dainty white and silver flowers.”

“Both Sophie and Samantha were so lovely. I had a trial with them both and they made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. They asked what my style was and made me feel beautiful whilst still looking like me.”

The wedding ceremony, breakfast and reception were all held in the Barn, and the outside areas were utilised for some fun games and entertainment for the guests. Inside, the couple’s love for music and dancing were reflected in their choice of musicians.

Kieran and Beth asked wedding harpist Thea Maund to play before and during their ceremony.

“Thea was so lovely to work with; she played the harp so beautifully it made our wedding feel even more romantic. She allowed us to pick songs that meant something to us that she could play to our guests which meant that our family and friends all knew the songs and our memories that went with them.”

Beth walked down the aisle in the Barn Chapel with her dad to ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’, following her sisters who were bridesmaids, and her nephews who were Page Boys.

“Our wedding ceremony was our favourite part of the day. Not only was this the part of the day we became husband and wife but this was the part of the day love filled the room. Our closest family and friends were all in one place together with the barn creating the most romantic atmosphere with the beautiful décor and rustic barn features.”

In homage to Kieran’s Scottish roots, the couple had a bagpiper to accompany the reception drinks and outdoor entertainment.

“Kieran’s family are Scottish so of course we had to have at least one Scottish tradition involved! We had canapés for our wedding and chose chicken tacos, halloumi sour bread and fish and chips, all of which are our favourite foods.”

“Emma Lane Designs provided garden games and these were the perfect addition to our wedding day. Emma was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for her. For our games we chose a bean bag toss, bowling and space hoppers. The garden games were beautiful, all wooden and rustic, and the space hoppers were white which went so well with our styling. Emma also provided crates with flowers on and a rustic sign which was personalised with a message of our choice.”

“The bouncy castle was from I Do Couture. We had this for our little guests but our big guests enjoyed it just as much! The bouncy castle was white and decorated with greenery. I Do Couture were so helpful and the bouncy castle was loved by everyone.”

The reception was hosted in the main barn, and the couple selected a delicious three-course meal for their guests.

“We chose two starters, two mains and two puddings from a huge choice of meal options. Our starters were ham hock terrine and garlic mushrooms, for our mains we chose roast chicken and sirloin of beef, and for puddings we chose crème brulée and chocolate brownie. The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests commented on how beautiful the food both looked and tasted!”

“Healing Manor went above and beyond for our guests who had dietary requirements, making sure that they also had a choice in food and were able to enjoy their meal.”

As well as a simple, iced white cake from The Cake Queen Lincoln, the couple chose a sweet cart and cookie wall from The Confectionery Lounge.

“We chose Zoe for our wedding cake after following her beautiful creations on social media. After our initial meeting we were gifted a sample box of cake flavours to taste – all of which were incredible – but we chose a three-tier cake of salted caramel, lemon and cherry Bakewell.”

“We chose a simple white iced cake with greenery and white flowers, and a rustic wooden cake topper to match the styling of the barn. We asked Zoe to include a few macarons as these are our favourite treats and Zoe fitted them in just perfectly, our wedding cake was beautiful and we loved every part of it.”

“April from The Confectionery Lounge was the most lovely person who was so incredible to work with. Both the cookie wall and sweet cart were loved by every one of our guests. We chose a sweet cart and a cookie wall and both were decorated beautifully to match the style of our wedding. We were able to choose the sweets on our cart and also the flavours of cookies for our cookie wall, which were absolutely delicious!”

For the evening reception’s entertainment, there was live music from QTA and a photo booth from Bliss Booth.

“We love dancing and having a good time so we thought a band would be great. We chose QTA to play a mixture of genre songs which everyone could enjoy and dance along to. QTA was great and got everyone on their feet on the dance-floor. Our first dance was ‘The One’ by Kodaline.”

“Bliss Booth had different choices of photo booths, and we were able to choose our own personalised frame for the pictures to be printed on. Having the photo booth meant that we had even more fun memories to look back on with the photo book provided by Bliss Booth, and our guests loved this addition to our wedding.”

“Healing Manor is an absolutely stunning venue and we cannot thank the team and all our suppliers for making our day so incredible; we loved every second. A huge thank you for thinking of the little things that meant we made more memories at our wedding, such as the Wellington Boots which we definitely needed in the rain!”
