Held on 8 May 2026 in the wedding Barn at Healing Manor, their elegant spring wedding day was a masterclass in ‘simplistic luxury’.

From the get-go, Francesca knew exactly how she wanted her and Ben’s wedding day to feel.

“Black Tie was the theme – classic, clean, elegant styling. Simplistic with a flower choice of white roses, glass candles and black elements to match the Black Tie theme.”

This vision translated into a monochromatic dream: the men in sharp black tuxes from Hawes & Curtis, bridesmaids in floor-length black gowns, and the bride herself in a breathtaking, traditional heavy satin Mikado dress from Coates Couture Bridal.

Even the guests joined the “main character” energy, donning floor-length dresses to match the formal dress code.

The Styling: “Lighting is Everything”

To bring their ‘simple and elegant’ vision to life, the couple worked with Jess at Love in the Limelight. The decor relied on texture and glow rather than over-the-top florals.

“Pure silks were used as our draped ceremony backdrop. Ivory satin trailing bows were used and lots and lots of glassware with candles everywhere. Jess said lighting is everything and filling a room with small fairy lights and candles is enough to make an impact.”

The floral choice was just as intentional: large single-stem white roses paired with ivory silk swags. The result? A timeless look that felt both expensive and elegant.

A Twist on Tradition: The Spring BBQ

While the outfits were formal, the food was all about flavour and fun. Ditching the traditional sit-down breakfast, Francesca and Ben opted for a Spring BBQ to suit their late afternoon ceremony, with canapés accompanying the outdoor drinks reception, followed by speeches and then the main event.

“All of the food was impeccable (even the children’s pizzas were amazing!). It worked perfectly… the sun was shining and most guests spent the afternoon outside in the courtyard where the food was served.”

For dessert, Coco Cakes provided a vintage-inspired piped Victoria sponge that was so good it nearly disappeared instantly.

“The majority of the cake was cut up and left on the cake table for guests to help themselves almost all of it went. Everyone commented on how lovely it was.”

Capturing the Magic

To document the day, the couple chose James Williams Photography, whose high-energy personality kept the vibes high and the schedule on track.

“We loved his style, his personality, and his ability to manage the guests and crowds and get the shots he needed. He was enthusiastic, bubbly, and energetic, which is needed in a photographer.”

The “Golden Hour” Moment

When asked about her favorite part of the day, Francesca points to the moment the nerves finally melted away.

“The drinks reception after the ceremony when I could finally relax, the sun was shining, canapés and drinks flowing with our singer (Lola’s Dream) singing in the background outside. It was finally time to start enjoying the day now that the formal and nervous part of the day was over.”
