We were delighted to be able to host and now share the wedding of Keri and Nathan, the winners of our ‘win a wedding’ competition. What a wedding it was!

Tastefully, but simply decorated, with the help of Jack Loves Jill, The Barn had an airy, warm feel, which acted as the perfect backdrop for the ceremony and all the laughter and smiles from those who attended. Keri looked glowing as she walked down the aisle in her beautiful dress with an ornate bodice and full skirt, carrying a bouquet including pale and dark pink roses, and beautiful greens, created by Treasured Bouquets. Her bridesmaids were equally stunning in stand-out pink.

After the big ‘I do’ Elizabeth Rose Photographer and Pocket Jack Films continued to capture happy moments – and there were plenty of those! The guests enjoyed drinks and canapes, which included baked sourdough with halloumi, carpaccio of Lincolnshire red, with crème fraiche, parmesan shavings, and truffle oil and miniature fish and chips with pea purée – which are always a firm favourite.

When it came to the meal, guests were seated on lyric-labelled tables back in The Barn, where they tucked into three delicious – if we do say so ourselves – courses, including cream of cauliflower soup to start, then either topside of beef or spring green risotto, and followed by either rhubarb and custard posset with lavender shortbread, or dark and white chocolate brownie and cherry cream. With full tummies, the room laughed and cried along to the speeches delivered by the father of the bride, the groom, and best man, raising a glass of Prosecco to toast the happy couple.

As evening guests arrived, the happy couple were celebrated with sparklers, before cutting the most beautiful cake. It was iced in the palest of pink, with flowers matching the wedding party, and was designed and made by Kimmies Cakes. The couple had their first dance as husband and wife to the sounds of In Case You Didn’t Know by Brett Young and Una Healy. Then they were joined on the dance floor by their favourite people who busted their best moves alongside them, on and off through the evening, only breaking to chill out with blankets and slipper socks, or tuck into the evening buffet, obviously with a celebratory drink or two.

We were honoured to host Keri and Nathan’s wedding. Thinking of the day will alway bring a smile to our face. We wish them all the happiness as a married couple.
