For Sophie and Sam, Healing Manor Hotel was the perfect backdrop for their dream barn-themed wedding in mid-July 2024.

The couple was drawn to the venue not only for its beautiful outdoor space but also for the elegant interiors.

“We wanted a barn wedding, and loved how the barn looked with all the lights up. We wanted to pick somewhere where the inside was just as nice as we didn’t trust English weather—good thing we did, as it rained all day!”

Despite the rain, Sophie and Sam’s day was nothing short of magical. Their ceremony took place inside the charming barn, followed by a stylish wedding breakfast and an unforgettable party.

“We went with a forest green theme, which tied everything together perfectly.”

Love in the Limelight was the couple’s stylist, creating a beautiful look by using the same hue as the bridesmaids’ stunning forest green dresses for the chair sashes and table décor. To add a fun, quirky touch, the couple incorporated disco balls into their styling , using them down the aisle, on their invitations, and even on the seating plan board.

Sam and Sophie met at work, and were engaged in Lanzarote at the top of a view point.

“I originally asked Sam to stand up as I was embarrassed lots of people were stood around watching. I made him ask me again on our hotel balcony.”

On the wedding day, Sam looked dapper in his forest green suit, while the best men and page boy were dressed in sleek black tuxedos. The stylish details extended to black and silver candles on the tables, and black frames for the boards and backdrop. Every element of the décor was thoughtfully chosen, creating a modern yet timeless look.

Sophie’s bridal gown was a gorgeous blend of simplicity and sophistication, chosen at Joana Bridal Boutique in Harrogate.

“I wanted something sleek and simple.”

The gown was expertly altered and upgraded by Stephanie Kate Bridal Couture. To add a unique twist, she had sleeves custom-made, giving the dress an extra touch of elegance. Sophie completed her look with a custom silk tulle veil, also created by Stephanie.

The bride’s accessories were understated yet chic.

“I got my jewellery from Abbott Lyon and TK Maxx, and my shoes from ASOS – nothing too fancy!”

Sophie’s natural beauty shone through, with make-up by Nadia Kobarenko and hair styled by Emma at Tiger Eye Hair, her regular hairdresser. The finishing touch was her bouquet of dried flowers, chosen by the bride and ordered from Hidden Botanics.

The bride walked down the aisle with her dad to Hozier’s ‘Work Song’.

The couple’s day was filled with unique touches that reflected their personalities. One of the highlights of the celebration was the unexpected entertainment.

“We had singers posing as waiters, which was amazing and had everyone fooled!”

As the evening progressed, their live band, The Mardy Johnny Depps, got everyone on the dance floor with their energetic setlist of pub classics. It was the perfect way to kick off the night.

For dinner, the couple opted for a relaxed and interactive dining experience.

“We did the pies! We had pies on the table for everyone to share. We didn’t want to do three courses, as it makes people tired!”

The pie-sharing was a hit, with guests raving about the delicious food. Later in the evening, Sophie and Sam treated their guests to a taco station, a nod to their love for Mexican food.

“Everyone said it was amazing, and there was so much food!”

Their wedding cake, a vintage design, was made by a family friend, adding a personal touch to the day’s celebrations.

One of the most cherished moments of Sophie and Sam’s day was their first dance. They chose ‘I Found You’ by Fred Again, a song that holds special meaning for them.

“It’s one of our favourite songs”.

The couple shared a romantic first dance, surrounded by family and friends.
