On 24 February 2024, Healing Manor Hotel had the pleasure of hosting the enchanting wedding of Sam and Sean. The couple, who met at work in A&E, chose our beautiful venue for its idyllic location and charming barn, perfect for accommodating their family and friends from across the country.

Sam and Sean’s love story began at work and blossomed on Cleethorpes beach, where Sean proposed at the very spot they shared their first kiss. Their wedding day was inspired by a rustic and woodland theme, brought to life with bright spring flowers that added a touch of vibrancy to the February day.
Sam’s stunning dress from Maggie Sottero, sourced from Belle & Bouquet in Lincoln, was a vision of vintage elegance.
“I wanted a vintage-looking dress and something that wasn’t too big and heavy to move in.”

She paired it with a delicate veil from the same boutique and completed her look with sparkly Rachel Simpson T-bar shoes and jewellery from Daniella Draper.
“All jewellery was from Daniella Draper, and all my bridesmaids and flower girls had the same matching heart detail as my jewellery.”
Sean selected a smart navy three-piece suit from Peter Posh, via Coates Couture, and paired it with tan brogues and a cream tie, the perfect complement to Sam’s gown.

From the natural makeup by Makeup by Alexandra to the elegant hair styling by Emma-Jayne of Mirror Mirror, Sam looked breathtaking. Her look was finished with fresh flowers in her hair and a full and whimsical bouquet, styled by Gina of The Enchanted Garden.
“I wanted some colour from the flowers given that it was February and the weather had the potential to be a bit dull. As it happened, it was a beautiful sunny day and the flowers were stunning. I wanted them to look more like they’d just been picked from a meadow rather than perfectly placed.”

The ceremony took place in our lovely and historic wedding barn, where Sam walked down the aisle to Elbow’s ‘One Day Like This’, accompanied by her father, bridesmaids, flower girls, and the couple’s adorable three-year-old son, Cameron. The atmosphere was filled with love and joy as they exchanged vows, and they exited to the cheerful tune of McFly’s ‘All About You’.

The couple chose James and Merika of James Green Studio to capture their day.
“They were amazing! We liked the natural style and they made us feel so relaxed on the day.”

The couple’s favourite part of the day was walking around the grounds for photos.
“It was just the two of us and was a little bit of calm in the chaos of the rest of the day.”

Guests enjoyed al fresco canapés before sitting down to a delicious three-course wedding breakfast, expertly catered by our team. In the evening, they enjoyed hot dogs.

“Hannah at Healing Manor was amazing at arranging Lancashire Black Peas (which were cooked perfectly on the night!).”
The semi-naked cake by Patacake featured layers of raspberry and Prosecco, vanilla, and lemon, and was a delightful nod to their rustic theme.

Music played a significant role throughout the day, with Stephen Donoghue providing beautiful melodies during the ceremony and drinks reception, and the lively The Mardy Johnny Depps entertaining guests in the evening. Their choice of ‘I’m a Believer’ by The Monkees for the first dance was a fun and light-hearted reflection of their personalities.
Advice for other couples
“It’s the most amazing place with the most amazing staff. The whole day was perfect from start to finish.”
