We love a high summer wedding – the long, warm evenings, beautiful flowers in the grounds and gorgeous green lawns.

It was a delight to host Rachel and John’s August wedding on 18 August 2023, for which they enhanced the wedding barn with a rustic theme and touches of sage green and bright yellow.

“We loved the beautiful venue and grounds, and the intimacy of the barn.”

The couple chose a late afternoon wedding ceremony, followed by a buffet and summer wedding party in the barn.

“We met on social media and got engaged in York with the ring tied to a ribbon on a bottle of wine. It was a total surprise.”

Rachel and John Healing Manor Wedding

“We had a barn civil ceremony with a cello for our wedding music. We went with a rustic theme with sage green elements and pastel colours. Happycakies Wedding Décor decorated the venue for us.”

Bride Rachel chose a figure-hugging, pure white, mermaid gown by Ronald Joyce, chosen at Proposals Bridal Room. She added embellished slingback heels and a simple bracelet and necklace.

John’s smart, light stone, three-piece suit was perfect for the hot summer day, and was the Marc Darcy ‘Harry Maguire’ design from Hancocks Menswear.

“We both felt fantastic on the day in our choices.”

The bride asked Kate Atkinson Make Up Artist to create her bronzed, glowing bridal make-up look, whilst her hair was in a glamorous up-do, styled by Penny Thomas.

Rachel’s bridal bouquet was full of yellow flowers and wild flowers, created by Flourish Floristry and John wore a matching buttonhole.

“Our photographer was Corke & Corken who took some fantastic photos. He really captured the natural shots.”

The bride walked in to the Barn with her mum, to ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ played on the cello. The couple exchanged their vows, their favourite element of the day, before hosting a buffet and party.

Powerplay Discotheques provided all the music we requested.”

“A family friend, Amy Bradley, made our wedding cake – a rustic, naked, two-tier cake.”

“Healing Manor is a great venue with great staff. It all came together on the day.”
