What could be more romantic than a cosy and intimate February wedding in the Barn at Healing Manor Hotel, held on the couple’s anniversary?

Megan and Kieran tied the knot on 10 February 2024, having known each other all of their lives after meeting at primary school.

The couple decided on a natural, elegant and romantic vibe, combining natural tones and lots of greenery with a pop of ‘burnt peach’ running through the flowers, décor and the bridesmaids dresses. Against the rustic Barn setting, this look was sophisticated and elegant, with a touch of boho style.

“We wanted a February wedding – to get married on the date we got together – and we loved the feel of the barn which felt cosy and intimate, perfect for the ceremony we wanted. We were drawn to the Manor after seeing other wedding pictures in the beautiful grounds, and knew it was the venue for us after visiting a wedding fair.”

Megan and Kieran met at primary school and went on to secondary school together. Their first date was exactly eleven years before their wedding date.

“Kieran proposed to me on Christmas Eve 2020. It wasn’t quite the proposal he was expecting – lockdown prevented our planned holiday – but he plucked up the courage and got down on one knee after we walked home, a little tipsy from some festive drinks. We wanted to wait a little while to get married so we could share it with all of our family and friends.”

The couple wed in an intimate ceremony in the barn, followed by a party reception. For styling, they worked with Amy of Jack Loves Jill.

“We enjoyed bringing the details together ourselves and could not have brought our vision to life without Amy of Jack Loves Jill who understood exactly the kind of atmosphere we wanted to create in the Barn. Hannah, the Healing Manor events co-ordinator, was always on hand to answer any questions and support our decisions.”

For flowers, the couple turned to Abigail of Seaholly Floral Design.

“I have been following Abigail’s work for the last few years as I love her natural style. She has never created anything I don’t absolutely love, and I had full faith that she would create my dream bridal bouquet.”

“I asked for white and natural colours. Abigail convinced me to add a pop of peachy/nude tones to tie in the bridesmaids’ dresses and I am so pleased with how it looked. Abigail included white iris in my bouquet, a sentimental flower from my mum’s wedding bouquet.”

The bride wore a gorgeously fitted, lacy Liretta gown, in an off-white colour, bought from Willow & Lace Bridal.

“Mum and I decided to go window shopping two years before the wedding. I ended up coming out of the shop having ordered the second dress I tried on. I didn’t look at another wedding dress after as I loved it so much. My favourite thing about my dress is the lace – it’s so different and I haven’t seen anything like it before.”

“My accessories were quite minimal as I wanted my wedding dress to be the main focus. I wore sentimental jewellery, some of which was passed down from my Nannie who is no longer with us (a diamond solitaire necklace and a blue ring). My shoes were simple heels from Carvela and I wore a small crystal barrette clip in my hair to tie the look together.”

The bride wore pulled back from her face in long waves, and it was styled by Robyn of Perfect Silhouette Hairdressing.

“Robyn and I laughed constantly on the morning of my wedding. She made me feel so at ease and stopped my nerves from kicking in! I chose to have my hair how I feel most comfortable, down and curly. Robyn made it work and incorporated my barrette clip. I loved the finished style.”

Natalie Kate MUA created the bride’s natural, warm and glowy look.

“She is so talented! Natalie asked me details about my wedding style and got to know me at my trial. She just knew what to do and created the perfect makeup for me. It stayed on all day and night, even after some misty photos later on in the evening.”

Whilst the bride and her friends got ready, Kieran dressed in a Peter Posh suit from Coates Couture.

“We wrote our own vows which made the ceremony so special.”

The whole day was captured by James and Merika of James Green Studio.

“We chose James and Merika as their style is very natural and romantic. We prefer more candid photos as we are not particularly good posers. We cannot say enough positive things about these two! Our pictures are incredible and we will treasure them forever.”

“James and Merika felt like guests rather than photographers. We had so much fun during our couple shoot. They went above and beyond their jobs as photographers, and we are so pleased with the end result.”

The wedding breakfast was provided by Healing Manor’s chefs, followed by a simple white wedding cake from Patacake Cakes adorned with flowers from Seaholly Floral Design.

“The food was incredible. We heard nothing but good things from all of our friends and family. The ruffle tier of the cake looked amazing! We chose lemon drizzle, and vanilla and raspberry.”

For the evening entertainment, Sam Simmons was on hand with his acoustic guitar and singing, there was a photo booth from Oh Snap, and a disco and dancing from Healing Manor’s in-house DJ.

“We chose our favourite songs from Sam Simmons’ song list. He was absolutely incredible. We were so pleased we chose him to perform after our ceremony and later on in the night to get the party started. He got everyone up and dancing!”

“The DJ created an amazing atmosphere. We loved the song suggestion cards that went out which meant our family and friends got to dance to their favourite songs. Our first dance was to ‘Take it to the Limit’ by Eagles.”

“Our favourite thing was having all of our loved ones in the same place. We loved every second of the day!”
