From glittery shoes to sparklers, laughter to tears, and elegance to gangster… Charlotte and Chris’s wedding was a pleasure to host in the Healing Manor Wedding Barn.

Charlotte and her team of bridesmaids laughed together as they got ready. Charlotte in the most stunning lace gown, and the girls changed from dusky blue satin pjs into dusky blue dresses, and all carried bouquets of pastel roses, from Treasured Bouquet. While the groom and his gang were dressed in navy suits and matching waistcoats and buttonholes.

Nothing will match the look on Charlotte’s dad’s face, as he came to walk her to the barn and down the aisle. Other than perhaps the look on Christopher’s, when, as he stood under the romantic white floral arch, overlooking beautiful landscaped grounds, he saw her approaching.

The weather shone down on the happy couple. James Green, the photographer, captured not only the happy moment they tied the knot, but also many in the grounds afterwards, before everyone returned to the barn to toast the happy couple, enjoy the speeches, and tuck into a three-course-feast. Kicking off with the starters, the guests had a choice of pea and mint soup, chicken and bacon liver pate, or a traditional prawn cocktail. The main followed, and everyone enjoyed with roast chicken and creamed potato, lamb shank with garden minted mash, beer battered haddock and chips, or for the vegetarians, sweet onion and goats cheese tartan, with grilled courgette, broad beans, and baby spinach. Yum!

For pud, all the guests made room for either seasonable crumble, vanilla cheesecake, or white chocolate, strawberry, and elderflower pavlova, then sat back feeling full and content, while the celebrations continued.

As the night drew in, evening guests arrived in time to watch the couple cut the cake – a mix of Victoria and chocolate sponge, carefully created by Blackburn Cakes. After the first dance, they waved sparklers at the bride and groom, before being treated to a display of fireworks which wowed even the youngest in the audience.

Then, for those who had any room, a hog roast was available to all guests, along with an array of entertainment including a DJ, a band, and of course, much fun from the couples’ friends and family. By midnight, the bar had closed, and those left had a final dance, before heading off to bed.
