In May we were lucky enough to see Heather and Garry tie the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony and reception. The couple said their ‘I do’s’ in our wedding barn, under a neon sign reading ‘It was always you’ – provided by Jack Loves Jill – with their closest family and friends watching.

Heather was a vision in white. Her bridesmaids wore the palest of pastel blue, complemented by bouquets of roses in the same shade, along with a delicate pink. Garry and his ushers wore matching buttonholes in their navy suits, with pale blue ties. The couple were joined by their beautiful pooch, Millie, who fitted in perfectly with the colour scheme, and proudly wore a matching rose on her lead.
The weather was on their side, allowing everyone to enjoy drinks, canapes, and a long awaited catch up in the hotel grounds, before moving into a tipi provided by The Tipi Tribe for the wedding reception.
The tipi, and the tables where the guests were seated, were tastefully decorated with glass tealights, candles, eucalyptus and flowers matching the bouquet. ‘It was always you’ was again shining behind the top table and the happy couple.
Heather and Garry gave their guests a choice of three starters, four mains and three desserts. Dishes were chosen by the couple and included to start:
Chicken liver & bacon pâté, apple & vanilla chutney, brioche
Prawn cocktail, Marie Rose sauce, wholemeal bread, scorched lemon
Roasted tomato & pimento soup, pesto oil, balsamic
Mains were a choice of:
Grilled halloumi, slow roasted peppers, heritage tomatoes, watercress, blackcurrant & wine sauce
Chicken supreme, bacon, pork, sage & onion stuffing, fondant, sherry & mushroom veloute
Baked salmon, charred spring onions, dill hollandaise, sea vegetables
Pork belly, slow roasted pork shoulder, apple mashed potato, apple purée, cider & onion sauce
And Desserts included:
Lemon tart, mascarpone, pistachio
Vanilla cheesecake, seasonal fruits and purée
Chocolate brownie with cherry cream
Yum! When everyone had tucked in and eaten all they could, it was time for the speeches. Laughter filled the air, as childhood and embarrassing photos were shown, before moving onto some more sentimental moments.
When it came to cutting the stunning cake, which was designed and made by the talented Katie’s Cupcakes. Two tiers, and delicately iced to look like delicate logs, with tiny, handmade blue and pink flowers, topped with two love birds.
The guests danced late into the night, as they made the most of their very special day.
Congratulations Heather and Garry, from everyone at Healing Manor.
