There’s something undeniably magical about a rustic wedding at Healing Manor, and Joanne and Paul’s September celebration was the perfect example of how personal touches and heartfelt styling can transform the barns and gardens into a warm, joy-filled setting.
From the moment guests arrived, the day was filled with character, laughter, and thoughtful details that reflected Joanne and Paul’s personalities – all while making the most of Healing Manor’s versatile indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Inspiration
When it came to styling their big day, Jo and Paul knew exactly what they wanted: “rustic charm with lots of wood“. The couple leaned into the natural beauty of the barns, weaving in handmade details and earthy touches to create a wedding that felt authentic and welcoming.
“Make use of the outdoors and don’t let it go to waste! Our guests loved the different ‘zones’ – the lawn at the back and the areas outside the font of the barn. Don’t forget to decorate too! The outdoor lighting was great for evening photos.”
The Outfits
Jo looked stunning in her gown from Elite Bridal, paired with timeless jewellery from Daniella Draper Jewellery. Her look was completed with a colourful bouquet by Florence Bloom that perfectly suited the rustic countryside setting. Her glam make-up was applied by Makeup by Jesse Genia whilst her up-do was perfected by Stephanie Emma Honsa.
Paul and his groomsmen were equally stylish in suits from Hancocks Menswear, and the couple exchanged rings from Leggotts Jewellers, adding the most meaningful finishing touch.
Capturing the Day
Every magical moment was beautifully documented by Tara at Nestcraft. Jo and Paul can’t stop singing her praises, describing her as ‘literally like a fourth bridesmaid’. From the morning preparations to the very last dance Tara worked tirelessly, capturing some beautiful images that now serve as timeless memories of their perfect day.
“We also added on a content creator, Albatross Weddings, last minute to capture the day unfolding by way of reels. You won’t regret it!”
Styling the Celebration
Rustic romance was at the heart of Jo and Paul’s styling choices. With the help of Love in the Limelight, the barns were brought to life with a beautiful aisle arch, barn hoop, and atmospheric lighting.
To enhance the rustic wedding feel, Happycakies supplied wooden tables and chairs, along with an ice cream cart that delighted guests. The rest of the styling was lovingly handmade – from crates and dried flowers with lashings of eucalyptus to handmade signage, a bespoke seating plan, snack station, centrepieces, and even scratchcards for drinks. Jo’s creativity and attention to detail shone throughout the entire day.
Food & Cake
Guests were treated to a delicious menu of canapés, BBQ, and hog roast, all cooked to perfection and enjoyed in true rustic wedding style. The cake, crafted by Lisa at Grandma Tiggy-Winkles Homebakes, was not only stunning but also incredibly tasty.
Jo and Paul shared their top cake tip for other couples: “You don’t need anywhere near as much cake as you think but it freezes beautifully, so you can enjoy it for weeks to come.”
A Day Full of Fun
Jo and Paul made sure their guests were entertained from start to finish with an incredible line-up of activities and live performances. Garden games from Emma Lane Designs, a bouncy castle from I Do Couture, Dan Voakes Magician, and a VW Campervan photo booth kept the daytime atmosphere light and fun, while singer Sam Jayne Sings, Sax Every Weekend, and Video & Vinyl DJ kept the dancefloor buzzing late into the night. Indoor fireworks by Vipa Fireworks provided a spectacular finale.
Favourite Moments
When asked to pick a favourite part of the day, Jo and Paul found it impossible to choose – they simply loved every minute. From morning laughter to evening celebrations, the day was packed with so much joy and energy that it flew by in the blink of an eye.
“We absolutely adored every minute – it goes far too quickly so make the most of it!”

Also, meet your photographer before – ensure you get on well and discuss all the details and shots you like – ours was great.”
