Christmas Afternoon Tea at Healing Manor is a luxurious treat to be enjoyed by all.

With a selection of savoury and sweet homemade treats on offer, Healing Manor’s Lady Portman Afternoon Tea has been inspired by one of the Manor’s original residents. Lady Portman was a very particular lady with plenty of finesse, who even has a famous London square named after her family.

The tradition of Afternoon Tea dates back to 1840 when Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford would become hungry at around four o’clock in the afternoon. Evening meals were served fashionably late in the 1800’s leaving a long gap between lunch and dinner, so Anna would often enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake. Friends were invited to join her and word spread until it become highly popular and fashionable in society – and so it continues today.

Whilst we take the tradition of afternoon tea very seriously, here at Healing Manor Hotel, we like to do things a little different. Christmas Afternoon Tea is packed full of delicious homemade savoury and sweet bitesized treats, inspired by all things Santa and Christmas.

Boasting traditional festive flavours, our Christmas Afternoon Tea is available as a gluten free, vegan, vegetarian or as a children’s menu, to be enjoyed by all.

To start, there’s a miniature cup of delicious and warming honey roast parsnip soup with a crunchy parsnip crisp, followed with a Lincolnshire Sausage wrapped in dry cured bacon, served with caramelised onion chutney!

Sandwiches include;

Traditional roast turkey with stuffing, cranberry, spinach and mayonnaise.

Honey roast ham and pickled beetroot

Brie and cranberry

To follow the delicious savouries, is an orange infused scone with dried cranberries, which is served with brandy cream and jam.

Our Christmas Afternoon Tea is finished with 4 delicious miniature desserts with even more of a festive twist. A lemon tart is topped with advocaat meringue, inspired by the 1970’s favourite christmas tipple – the snowball. Thin chocolate shells are crafted and filled with a decedent dark chocolate orange mousse, mimicking everyones favourite stocking filler, Terry’s chocolate orange. Macarons have been dressed as miniature santa’s and a gingerbread character completes Christmas Afternoon Tea at Healing Manor Hotel.

Healing Manor’s Afternoon Tea is served with unlimited refills of Stokes of Lincoln Tea or Coffee which is freshly brewed to order.

We also offer a fabulous range of gins, hand selected by our very own Jamie Loring, Grimsby’s gin-master, which include; Lincolnshire Pin Gin, Edinburgh Rhubarb & Ginger, Copperhouse, Chase and many more!

Although booking isn’t compulsory, it’s recommended!
